Virtual Book Club Discussion: Bluebird, Bluebird

Thursday 10 September
Online (Zoom)
5 - 6.30pm
Free - please book in advance

Join us and share your passion for reading!

Every two months we will meet virtually over tea and biscuits to discuss some of the best works in contemporary literature. We’ll explore short stories, novels, non-fiction, poetry, and works in translation, making these informal and friendly sessions the perfect way to meet like-minded readers and to discover exciting new reads. We’ll always choose books that are easy to purchase in hard copy online or via Kindle.

In August and September we’ll be discussing Attica Locke’s powerful, award-winning crime novel set in Texas, Bluebird, Bluebird. Esi Edugyan described it for the Guardian as: ‘Mesmerising … original … exhilarating … Locke is building a compelling body of work. In this age of enduring and renewed racial tensions, we need her voice more than ever.’

National Centre for Writing · #101 Book Club: Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke

Spaces are limited so we recommend booking your place in advance. This discussion will take place via Zoom – further details will be sent to you a few days prior to the event.

Bluebird, Bluebird is available for purchase from independent bookshops, and in paperback and eBook from the Mulholland Books website.

Can’t make this time? We’re also running a discussion earlier in the day at 12.30 – 1.30pm.
