More ways to get involved…

For writers
We create exciting opportunities for writers at all stages to grow their practice personally or professionally. We identify and nurture early-career authors and offer inspiration and teaching support for those wanting to take the next steps.

For translators
Through UK-based and international partnerships we champion literary exchange and increase the visibility of writing in translation. NCW supports translators from across the globe via mentorships, events and both virtual and physical residencies here in Norwich.

For communities
We empower individuals and communities through a range of projects that celebrate Norwich’s diverse people and cultures; helping build new relationships and share experiences through written and oral storytelling.

For young people
We inspire and connect children and young people through a lively, engaging range of workshops, free activities and writing competitions to boost storytelling skills and encourage reading and writing for pleasure.

For families
We recognise that a love of words and story-making makes writers of the future and can begin with the very youngest among us. Our family programme responds to this with an enthusiasm to create playful, creative sessions for families to enjoy together.

For schools
We support teachers and practitioners to engage and inspire pupils with creative writing via reading groups, networks with professional writers, free resources, online and in-person activity and place-based school visits.
