Lit From the Inside

Our Lit From the Inside programme enables 14 – 17-year-olds to get a behind-the-scenes look at the literary arts scene in Norwich.

Our Insiders are young lovers of reading, writing and books who might want to pursue a future career in the creative arts. They meet monthly with NCW staff to:

  • Discover how an arts organisation works from the inside
  • Take trips to other UNESCO Cities of Literature
  • Learn about marketing and broadcasting
  • Complete their Bronze Arts Award
  • Meet and interview authors, translators, and international writers
  • Develop their own creative writing

“I was nervous at first but…all the other people are so nice, it coaxed me out of my shell.”
Moby Wells, Heathersett Academy, Yr. 10

In its past iteration as Young Ambassadors, our young people have interviewed Margaret Atwood, been published in the EDP, reviewed our events, and planned our Young Norfolk Writing Competition Showcase as part of their Bronze Arts Award.

Applications for Lit from the Inside 2020 are now closed. Subscribe to our schools’ e-newsletter for updates on when the next intake opens.
