Laura Bates

One of Owen Sheers’ selected writers for the International Literature Showcase

“Laura Bates, founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, has been called ‘the voice of her generation’ for her ground-breaking work as a diversity and equality activist. Now she has rendered her experience into a captivating YA novel, The Burning, in which two young women are bound across history by their mistreatment at the hands of their communities. At once ultra contemporary and tragically timeless, The Burning brilliantly harnesses the empathy and insight of the novel to challenge the restrictions and injustices of patriarchal societies.”

– Owen Sheers
