Lit From the Inside: a year of words, growth, and creativity

Over the past year, the Lit From the Inside cohort has cultivated their voices as emerging writers. From workshops with acclaimed authors, poets, and industry professionals to intensive writing sessions, they’ve built confidence, skill, and community. The cohort also curated and delivered a powerful showcase event, presenting original work shaped over the course of the project.

Below, you’ll find a selection of writing from the group. A testament to their creativity, courage, and commitment.

I’ve met some amazing people and we’ve all been able to connect through a shared appreciation for writing and literature.

Lit From the Inside participant

Our Lit From the Inside programme offers curious creatives aged 14-17 the opportunity to look deep into the literary world and gain the skills to embark on a creative or cultural career.

Sessions explore how all of the different parts of the literary ecosystem – publishers to illustrators, script-writers to events organisers, producers to poets – fit together.

Activities include workshops and discussions led by professionals at different career stages working in literature and more, as well as trips to cultural events and organisations in Norwich and beyond.

Before the programme, I didn’t understand how amazing Norwich really is but I definitely feel more connected.
