The National Centre for Writing Creative Leaders scheme is a unique training and work experience programme in creative writing and education. Last year, our Creative Leaders ran workshops in schools and community groups, supported major literary events and worked alongside top writers and industry professionals.
We are looking to recruit a new pool of creative workshop leaders for 2018.
- be passionate about creative writing and education
- be confident, independent and self-motivated
- have the ability to inspire and spur others into action
As part of the programme, recruits will be provided a practical training session which will take place on Saturday 11 November, 10am – 2pm in Room 1.06, the Enterprise Centre, UEA. The session will cover the following:
- Introduction to the programme
- Contemporary safe-guarding practices
- Presentation in the classroom skills
- Designing and delivering workshops
- Project opportunities
Recruits will then be paired and placed on existing projects. They will receive on-going support, mentoring and further professional development opportunities over the 12-month-period.
To register your interest, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 20 October.
UNESCO Creative Leaders 2016
Last year, WCN launched our first UNESCO Creative Leaders programme; offering volunteer-training to university students and young adults. Our Creative Leaders will be reporting back to us on a regular basis with blogs about the projects they have undertaken.
