Writing your World (workshop for 13-17 year olds)
Some of your best storytelling ideas will come from the things you see, hear and experience around you. In this friendly group workshop for 13 – 17 year olds, we will share experiences and draw inspiration from our favourite places – including Norwich, the surrounding countryside and beyond!
- Look and listen to poems about Norwich and other cities
- Try quick-fire writing and play writing games
- Talk about different landscapes, events and landmarks and how they can be used in your writing
- Start working on a new poem which talks about the world around you
- Meet other like-minded young writers and collaborate creatively together.
If you have a passion for writing of any kind, we want you to join us!
Don’t worry if this is your first time doing a writing workshop – we’re a friendly, informal bunch and you can share your writing as much or as little as you like.
Places are limited to 10 participants – please book in advance to secure your seat.
Please note: Parents and guardians are not expected to stay for the workshop – Dragon Hall is located a short walk from the city centre and is surrounded by shops and coffee shops. If the attendee has needs which require additional support, please book an essential companion ticket.
Places are limited to 10 to ensure social distancing. We ask that masks are worn in the building but they can be removed once sat in the workshop. The workshop will take place in a well ventilated room. Individual drinks and wrapped snacks will be provided. We ask that anyone able to scans in via the Track and Trace app, and we will retain contact details for those young people who do not have smart phones. Read more
