UEA Live: Jennifer Stone (LGBTQIA+ History Month)
Featuring Sophie Robinson
Join us for UEA Live – a season of free literature events where we showcase the very best of UEA’s past, present and future literary talent. Our headline authors are supported by writers from across the current UEA Creative Writing programmes.
Grab a drink from the bar, browse books and settle in for a cosy evening in the company of words, in the heart of England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. All are very welcome.
Doors open for all events at 6.30 for a 7pm start. No booking necessary. Arrive early to secure your seat.
Jennifer Stone was born in Essex and spent her formative years living within its borders and enjoying all of the nightclubs and alcopops it had to offer. After a stint in North Wales acquiring a degree in English Literature and a further spell in Leeds, training to be a teacher, she returned to the south of England to teach English in a variety of schools. She is currently head of English at a boarding school in Suffolk and she recently completed her MA in Creative Writing (crime) at UEA. She lives with her wife and their small son.
Sophie Robinson is a writer based in Berlin and Norwich, where she teaches Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. Her poetry collection Rabbit was a winter 2018 Poetry Society Recommendation, was named one of the best poetry books of 2018 in The Times, and is out now with Boiler House Press. She is currently working on a book of experimental non-fiction about addiction, sobriety, dead movie stars and bodies of water.
