One of Scotland’s leading spoken word poets brings the world premiere of her newest show This Script to Norwich. In the wake of the #MeToo movement, Jenny Lindsay uses spoken word poetry performance to explore key questions in sexual politics, gender, feminism and the culture wars.

As an acclaimed performer, Jenny has appeared across the UK and internationally at a variety of festivals and events including Latitude and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. The Scotsman described her work as ‘Defiant. Eloquent. Inspiring.’

We want Handover Festival to be open and accessible to all, whatever your background or financial circumstances. To make this possible we’ve introduced a ‘pay what you can’ pricing structure for each event: choose from £8, £5 or £3 tickets depending on what you can comfortably afford.

The Handover Festival is programmed entirely by a team of young people from ten Norfolk schools. Ticket sales and donations will go towards our work with young people and schools across Norfolk – to encourage everyone to have a chance to tell their story and have a voice. Please give what you can!

About Jenny

Jenny Lindsay is one of Scotland’s best-known spoken word performers. As an independent programmer and promoter of poetry, she was one half of cult literary cabaret Rally & Broad, and in 2016, launched Flint & Pitch Productions. In 2017 she was awarded the Creative Edinburgh Award for Leadership for her work in the spoken word sector, and was longlisted for the inaugural Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowship.

As a performer, Jenny has appeared across the UK and internationally at a variety of festivals and events including Latitude, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, ‘Where I’m Calling From’ Literary Festival in Montenegro, and the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival in Bali. Her debut show Ire & Salt gained a four-star review from The Scotsman and acclaim from the Orwell Society, and her second full collection of poetry, This Script, will be published in Spring 2019.

Handover is part of Engage!, a collaborative project between four UNESCO cities of literature around Europe – Barcelona (Spain), Krakow (Poland), Växjö (Sweden) and Norwich (UK). Find out more
