Storytelling and crafts with Debby Lukito Goeyardi
Indonesian storyteller Debby Lukito Goeyardi invites you to her storytelling session at the OPEN Norwich Youth Trust, featuring contemporary versions of traditional folk tales that will entertain the whole family.
Gatotkaca’s Bird House is based on one of the characters in the South East Asian epic the Mahabharata and in wayang, traditional shadow puppet theatre. Debby is also running a free puppet-making session based on her book at Norwich Puppet Theatre on 30 March.
Rafa the Raflesia Arnoldi is about the world’s largest flower, famous for its smell. After the story, children will have the opportunity to make their own flowers from paper!
This free, drop-in session will take place at the OPEN Norwich Youth Trust, in partnership with the National Centre for Writing.
