Poetry Pulse with Anna Cathenka (four-week course)

Wednesday 5 February
National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall
7 - 9pm
£75 / £65 conc

Our ‘back to basics’ pulse courses are perfect for both first-time writers and more practised writers who wish to refresh their technique. Using a mixture of discussion, writing exercises and (optional) individual feedback, you’ll gain confidence in handling three fundamental elements of your chosen form.

  • Techniques for experimenting with visual form
  • How to create memorable rhythm, sound and voice
  • Poetic devices to strengthen impact
  • New ways of interacting with contemporary poetry

‘Anna’s course gave me tools, techniques and new ways of thinking about how I approach my own poetry and how I read poems. It was such a good course – the first in my life and I can highly recommend it!’ – Penny Plowman, Poetry Pulse participant Autumn 2019

Anna’s course structure will be announced shortly.

This course runs every Wednesday evening, 7 – 9pm, for four weeks.
