Workshop

Medieval Writing (two-part workshop for 13-17 year olds)

Wednesday 25 August
National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall
25 & 26 August, 11am - 1.30pm
£5 (bursaries available)

Come along to these interactive workshops and write your own story or poem inspired by Dragon Hall and the medieval history of Norwich. Uncover the hall’s many-layered past through a series of games and writing activities and add your own voice to its history. Learn about everything from fish-processing to medieval trade, and, of course, dragons.

Over the two workshops, led by Daisy Henwood, you’ll have space to work on a longer piece of writing inspired by Dragon Hall, as well as the opportunity to try quick-fire writing, play some games, learn more about medieval Norwich, and meet other young writers. If you have a passion for writing of any kind, come along and spend some time in this magnificent old building, letting it inspire your work.

Places are limited to 10 participants – please book in advance to secure your seat.

Please note: Parents and guardians are not expected to stay for the workshop – Dragon Hall is located a short walk from the city centre and is surrounded by shops and coffee shops. If the attendee has needs which require additional support, please book an essential companion ticket.

Covid-19 precautions

Places are limited to 10 to ensure social distancing. We ask that masks are worn in the building but they can be removed once sat in the workshop. The workshop will take place in a well ventilated room. Individual drinks and wrapped snacks will be provided. We ask that anyone able to scans in via the Track and Trace app, and we will retain contact details for those young people who do not have smart phones. Read more
