This panel explores how publishers choose which books to translate and how literary translators and cultural institutes can influence these choices. We’ll start with a discussion about how publishers market and promote literature in translation to the readership. From there we’ll explore the implications and lessons for pitching potential titles to publishers for translation. We’ll also talk about how publishers, translators and cultural institutes can work together – from pitching through editing to promotion.
