How to Write a Story – Workshop for 14-19 Year-Olds
Calling young writers! Want to try your hand at writing a story? This two-hour workshop led by award-winning novelist, poet and playwright Nick Drake is the perfect opportunity to practice your writing skills and discover what it takes to stand out from the crowd. You will get the chance to read and listen to examples, then Nick will guide you through fun and engaging activities that will help you develop your own writing.
Once you’ve finished your script, why not enter it into the Young Norfolk Writing Competition 2019?
Nick is also running workshops in poetry and scriptwriting.

Nick Drake has written plays and libretti for the National Theatre, for the Barbican, and for the Royal Opera House; his novels have been translated into 10 languages; he also wrote the screenplay for a film Romulus, My Father that won the Australian Oscars. He is a Forward Poetry Prize winner, and his fourth volume of verse, has just been launched in London by Bloodaxe Books. Nick has taught on the MA Creative Writing Course at Goldsmiths College, University of London; he has mentored adult poets for the Arvon Foundation, and younger poets for the London Borough of Camden.
