Heritage Open Day: Put the Story in History
Drop-in sessions throughout the day on writing your own family history.
Why not try your hand at telling your own story? Come and talk to our Heritage Open Day writer in residence about researching and writing family history. Have a go at writing your own family story using a range of prompts and exercises. The writer in residence will be at Dragon Hall from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 8 September and there will be informal drop-in sessions on writing and researching family history throughout the day. No experience or advance preparation needed, just come along and head for the National Centre for Writing Education Space, in our new south wing, where our writer will be based.
Dragon Hall is a medieval building and as such, you should expect some uneven floors and a few dark corners. We have no on-site parking but are close to car parks at Rouen Road and Rose Lane. There is no access to the cellars or undercroft for wheelchair users. Our new South Wing, where the Education Space is located, is fully accessible.
Max 10 people per tour/session. Approximately 45 minutes per session There are no fixed timings for this event. You can drop in at any point to join a session or chat informally to our writer in residence. Contact for the day: Sarah Bower, General Manager 01603 877177
