Heritage Open Day: Guided Tours of Dragon Hall
Tour this historic medieval trading hall with our expert guides. Tours will take place at 10.00am and 2.30pm. Maximum numbers 15 per tour. Not suitable for children under twelve.
Come and explore the historic Dragon Hall, now home to the National Centre for Writing, and take a guided tour of this fascinating building with one of our expert volunteers.
Dragon Hall has had a colourful history – starting life as a 15th-century medieval trading hall, then a crowded residential building for 500 years. It’s been everything from slums, butcher’s shop, rectory and pub, right through to wedding venue, festival venue and now, a centre for writing!
Tours will last about an hour and will take in the new National Centre for Writing as well as the refurbished historical building and garden. No charge but numbers are limited so please book in advance.
Dragon Hall is a medieval building and as such, you should expect some uneven floors and a few dark corners. We have no on-site parking but are close to car parks at Rouen Road and Rose Lane. There is no access to the cellars or undercroft for wheelchair users.
Max 15 people per tour/session. One hour Contact for the day: Sarah Bower, General Manager 01603 877177
