Join Eley Williams, prize-winning author of Attrib. & Other Stories, as she offers expert guidance on how to write bold, brave short stories that leave a lasting impression on your reader.
This day-long workshop is designed for people who have not yet begun to write short stories or for those who have done some writing but would like to hone their craft. Through creative and constructive writing exercises you will explore the creative potential of play, including ways to take liberties with language, and will have the opportunity to share your work with the group.
Eley Williams is a writer and lecturer based in Ealing. Her collection of short stories Attrib. And Other Stories (Influx Press) was chosen by Ali Smith as one of the best debut works of fiction published in 2017, and won the James Tait Black and Republic of Consciousness Prizes in 2018. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and MacDowell Fellow (2018), Eley has been twice short-listed for the White Review Short Story Prize, and her works has appeared in the London Review of Books, the White Review, Ambit and the Cambridge Literary Review. She has a pamphlet of poetry titled Frit (Sad Press), and is currently co-editor of fiction at online journal 3:AM Magazine. Website
