We’ve lined-up a jam-packed programme of live events, courses, workshops, and development opportunities for writers and literary translators to see you through autumn and into the new year.
Whether you’re local to Norwich or joining us digitally from elsewhere, looking to attend alone or with friends and family, an established writer or a complete beginner, we’d love for you to get involved.
Autumn strides into view, and though the nights may be drawing in, we’re ready to light up the season with highlights and starry moments to guide us through the darker months ahead…
Gather close as we share a rich programme of voices, perspectives, and provocations this storytelling season. Look out for Sulaiman Addonia at Counterpoints Arts’ Platforma Festival, which brings together arts organisations working with migrants, refugees, and people with lived experience of forced migration. We’re also delighted to welcome the Norwich Book Festival back to Dragon Hall this October, featuring Sarah Hall, Celeste Mohammed, and more. And early next year, under the microscope of the Norwich Science Festival, we’ll explore impossible questions, immortality, and other wonders.
We’re embracing the season’s spirit with plenty of thrills and chills for Hallowe’en: from Ghost Stories by Candlelight, to new horror-inspired writing resources, including a free online course where young people can learn to craft their own scary stories. Then it’s on to festive cheer, with fireside folk tales and the return of the City of Literature Christmas Market — the place to be for all your bookish needs!
As always, this little introduction can only hint at what’s ahead. So dive in, explore, and we look forward to seeing you, somewhere, perhaps several times! Soon…
Warmest wishes,
Peggy Hughes
