Norwich Cathedral Library

Norwich Cathedral Library

For more than 900 years Norwich Cathedral has played a key role in the life of the city and county as a place of worship, a historic treasure and an iconic landmark.

Norwich is known as the City of Stories and the Norwich Cathedral has many to share – from having the second tallest Cathedral spire in the country (96m) to being decorated with the largest collection of medieval roof bosses (carvings) in the world.

The Norwich Cathedral Library, which can be found on the first floor of the Cloister, is packed with historic books and modern theological texts and it is open for all to explore from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Cathedral also hosts many cultural events, ranging from their Shakespeare Festival in the Cloister to the Art in the Close exhibition running until spring 2026. Their schools and family learning department also inspires thousands of young people every year through school visits and family days.
