Kurumuru Books
Kurumuru Books is an independent publishing house based in Norwich, dedicated to children’s, middle-grade, and young adult fiction in translation.
They focus on bringing stories from underrepresented languages and cultures into the UK, enriching young people’s literature with diverse voices and perspectives.
Their mission is to nurture open-minded thinking from an early age.
By reading stories from and about other cultures, young readers are inspired to think laterally, develop empathy, and gain a deeper understanding of the world.
Founded in 2019, by translators Leah Tanaka and Ella Micheler, their most notable titles are the fantasy epic Amarantha by E.R. Traina, and the LCI Award winner Little Apples of Eden by Bitė Vilimaitė.
