Galley Beggar Press
An independent publisher committed to publishing daring, innovative fiction and narrative non-fiction.
Founded in 2012 by Sam Jordison and Eloise Millar, Galley Beggar Press is a ‘small-but-mighty’ independent publisher dedicated to supporting writers of great literary talent who actively ‘push the boundaries of form and language’ and write ‘outside the norm’.
In their relatively short history, the press has cultivated an incredibly successful roster of authors, including Selby Wynn Schwartz, Lucy Ellmann, Preti Taneja, Eimear McBride, and Alex Pheby, among others. These writers have achieved significant critical acclaim, securing over twenty of the world’s most prestigious literary awards.
Notable accolades include being longlisted, shortlisted, and winning the Booker Prize and the Women’s Prize for Fiction. The press is particularly proud of its unique record of winning both the Goldsmiths Prize and the Desmond Elliott Prize twice. The Telegraph hailed the publisher as ‘revolutionary’ for its commitment to ground breaking literature.
