NCW Academy pay by instalments with Klarna

You will need a smart phone to use Klarna and have either Apple Pay or Google Pay set up on your phone before you start. You may also need the Klarna app installed on your phone. 

• Add the product(s) you wish to purchase to your basket and go to ‘checkout’.
• Depending on whether you are an Apple Pay user or a Google Pay user, the process will look slightly different. At the Payment section of checkout:
  • Apple Pay users can choose to use their Apple Pay app and select their stored virtual Klarna card under Other Cards & Pay Later. (You must create a virtual Klarna card within the Klarna app and say this to your Apple Wallet beforehand).
  • Google Pay users can choose to add their Google Pay information, then use your Google Pay app. Here, select Pay later, then Continue with Klarna. This will generate a single-use Klarna card. Then select Continue with Klarna to confirm the plan and complete the transaction. 
• If approved, you can manage your payments through the Klarna app.

• Your financial situation
• Your credit score
• Your ability to repay when required to
• Your understanding of Apple Pay or Google Pay

This will be done through Klarna itself, taking payments from the payment method you set up when you made your purchase.

To sign up with Klarna, you must be:

• Over the age of 18
• A UK resident
• Have either Apple Pay or Google Pay set up
• Prepared to provide accurate information on your finances

Yes, it can. When you sign up, Klarna will check your credit. Borrowing beyond your means or making late payments can negatively affect your financial status and credit score.

Funds will be automatically taken from the account you signed up with. Failure to meet your scheduled payments — if a payment fails, for example — can negatively affect your financial status and credit score. It may also mean you are charged a late fee, subject to Klarna’s terms and conditions.

Please refer to the National Centre for Writing’s Terms & Conditions to check whether you are eligible for a refund or credit note. If you wish to cancel your booking, contact academy@nationalcentreforwriting.org.uk and our team will advise you on your options and arrange any eligible refund.

If your cancellation is approved, any future payments scheduled through Klarna will be cancelled, and any payments already taken will be refunded to you in line with our Terms & Conditions.

Unfortunately, eligibility for Klarna’s payment options is determined by Klarna, and we are unable to influence or override their decision. If the option to pay in instalments is not available to you, we cannot offer an alternative payment plan through the National Centre for Writing.
