Join us for the launch of Ian Nettleton’s award-winning debut novel, Out of Nowhere (Salt) – a tense literary thriller about an escaped prisoner on the run, trying to see his daughter again.
Ian will discuss the novel in conversation with Lynsey White, followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing.
About Out of Nowhere
When a prison transport van is ambushed in the dark, Frank Neely walks free – not into freedom, but into the vast, merciless heat of the Australian interior. With no money and no plan, he sets off toward the daughter he hasn’t seen in years. Told through Frank’s relentless present and the fragmentary voice of his ex-wife, Abi, Out of Nowhere is a darkly funny, bleak, and unexpectedly tender novel about a man defined by what he has lost and what he refuses to surrender.
An impressive, dark-hearted novel which is hugely atmospheric, has an authentic and gripping sense of nastiness, and is peopled by totally convincing characters.
