Led by professional playwrights, this eight-week course offers an inspiring introduction to the playwriting process, alongside the chance to attend a performance at a local theatre.

There is even a chance to submit work created during the course to the National Theatre’s New Views Festival 2027, where six new plays by teenagers will be performed by professional actors. You will be invited for a free day trip to London to take part in the festival.

Priority will be given to applications from those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training, or those for whom access to the programme through school would not be possible.

The course runs at National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall each Monday for eight weeks. There will be a break for half-term on the w/c 15 February.
