National Centre for Writing is a leading literature organisation committed to developing and encouraging engagement with creative writing, reading and literary translation. The National Centre for Writing is based at the historic Dragon Hall, a 15th century medieval merchant hall, which has become a creative hub and home to National Centre for Writing’s range of artistic programmes, including: public talks and readings; literature festivals; education and learning activity with schools and young people; professional development for writers and translators such as masterclasses and courses; reading schemes; and international showcases. The newly constructed south wing is the primary space for our learning and participation activities and residencies are available for writers and translators from around the world, staying in the newly refurbished cottage. We also host external meetings, weddings and corporate events.
We are looking to recruit a pool of reliable and committed Duty Managers to assist the NCW team in the smooth delivery of high quality, customer-focused events and activities within our amazing venue of Dragon Hall.
About the role
The role of Events Duty Manager will be pivotal to the smooth, efficient and safe delivery of events and activities within Dragon Hall, taking responsibility for the operational implementation of the events as well as health and safety, and building management.
About you
You will be a committed and experienced event/venue manager able to confidently take charge of operational implementation, customer care, and troubleshooting during event delivery.
Recruitment Timetable

Interview Day: Thursday 16 September 2021
Training Days: 27 September 2021, 30 September 2021, 3 October 2021.
