Write poems or lyrics? Short stories, essays or graphic stories? Aged 11-18? We’re looking for the freshest, boldest words in Norfolk.
Send us your very best writing (poetry, lyrics, stories, scripts or essays) and you could win professional mentoring, publication on the Writers’ Centre Norwich website and bookish goodies!
To enter, you can submit up to three pieces of writing in each of the following categories:
- Poems and song lyrics
- Prose (including short stories, story extracts, essays and graphic stories)
This is a maximum of six pieces in total per person.
The word limits for each type of writing are:
- Poetry/lyrics: 40 lines each
- Prose (including short stories, story extracts, essays): One side of A4
- Graphic stories: Four sides of A4
Submissions may alternatively be made as audio recordings (max length: 5 mins).
Once your writing is ready, complete the submission form which you can find here, or send us an email from your school/college/personal email account to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will give details on how to apply.
Please note: writing previously submitted to the Young Norfolk Writing Competition in 2017 or 2016 cannot be accepted.
The closing date for entries is 5pm on Monday 4 June 2018
The best entries will win an exclusive private workshop session with a guest tutor, followed by an awards ceremony in Norwich on Friday 13 July.
