National Centre for Writing (NCW) invites applications from East of England-based publishers, presses, zine-makers, and artist collectives to take part in a publishing fair at the City of Literature strand of Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2022.
The day-long event will be a celebration of local and regional publishing and will take place on Sunday 29 May, 10am -4pm at Dragon Hall in Norwich, home to NCW, between 10am – 4pm. A limited number of stalls are available.
There is no fee to hold a table at the fair, although stallholders can pay £7.50 for a larger table. You will need to supply their own tablecloths and decorations. Stallholders will also have the chance to pitch a lightning talk to be given as part of the event.
To apply for a stall, please fill in this form, which requests details on the following:
- About the publishing house/collective: name, number of staff/members, and where the publishing house/collective are based, brief mission statement, etc.
- What you publish: market/genre/community, number of titles per year, examples of publications, etc.
- Links to website, social media, etc.
- One named contact
Applicants must be based in the East of England (defined as Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire). You can be a publisher, press, zine maker or artist collective (two or more writers/artists who collaborate creatively and promote their work).
Priority will be given to those of/or publishing under-represented groups including but not limited to: Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people, LGBTQ+ people, and people with disabilities and chronic illness.
We regret that we cannot accommodate individual writers and artists as stallholders.
The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Tuesday 1 March 2022.
Any questions about the event or application can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The decision to offer a stall to an applicant will be made by NCW staff and will be made subject to space limitations and on the basis of ensuring a representative sample of publishing activity in the region.
